Ok guys, now not going away in April as per my other thread so I fancy going away somewhere different.

Specs:

7-10 days
Travelling distance not an issue
Just me!
Awesomely photogenic, I'll be taking my camera and equipment.

Budget 1-2k.

So, thoughts? :)

Someones said Northern Lights so far as the first suggestion, liking this idea. It's also worth noting, I hate the american accent, so no american destinations, ta :p

Cheers,
Jake

EDIT: Forgot to mention gonna look to try and go away earlyish next year, so between Jan and March.

Northern lights are great although my Norwegian friend tells me that feb is better time for them.

I suggest Borneo - beaches, jungle, orangutans a fantastic place.

Just got back from Vietnam, certainly photogenic. Fly to Hanoi and go to Sa Pa for a few days, then back to Hanoi then Halong Bay.

£650 return flight. £1000 spending money.

You wont go to America because you 'hate the accent'?!

Yup, each time I've been there I couldn't wait to leave.

However, going to the states and driving something with 8 cylinders with the roof down would be epic.

After watching the topgear special as I'm sure you did also Phate, You know this is a seriously good idea, If you are wanting to take photos and see some real beauty Halong bay is  :)

Dubai would be great, it's not too hot this time of year- about 30C. :)

Much better places in that part of the World to go, Abu Dhabi being one of them, Oman another.

Chenoybl is quite expensive to go to, you're speaking $300+ US just for the day trip. Also, there's a high chance of it being covered in snow which will quickly turn the trip miserable as there's nowhere to escape the outside when you're there. Kyiv isn't too pricey but isn't cheap either.

Madagascar would get my vote, though I suspect it's out of your budget. Somewhere like Afghanistan would be good for a photography holiday, and very interesting.
