As the saying goes "There goes the neighbourhood", someone tried to break into my neighbours house over the weekend so I want some CCTV. Failing that I'm buying a trained Dobermann with a laryngectomy. 
I've got the bits for a P4 base unit (P4, 1.8GHz, 512 Mb, 60Gb HDD) that I want to stick up in the loft with 3 or 4 webcams mounted under the eaves of the house. One watching the front door, one on the back door and one watching the car on the drive (with the option to have one watching the shed when it arrives).
It'll be connected to my main PC (probably wireless, as I cba with the earache off mrs fatiain if I start drilling holes in the ceiling). Any advice as to which cameras/software to use? Motion detection would be good as I don't want to fill the HDD up with unnecessary footage. And any other advice you fellas (and fella-ettes) can give me.
