Spec me a home server. £800

Hi all,

Thinking about planning a sever build and needing somewhere to start. I would like to use the bitfenix prodigy case and have a raid for redundancy. No serious preferences after that but i like the idea of a combination server/HTPC if that is possible?

I had looked at that before and clearly it is great value for money. But i would quite like to build my own. Although for £115 or so, i can give it a go and see how it works out.

found the N40L with a 250gb HDD for £240. £130 after cashback. Is that the best deal around on these?

Pretty much, was looking at another one for my self, if you have quidco then cheek for any cash back offers.

plus, what hard drives are good to go for? Probably not worth bothering with enterprise drives right? Just turn it off for a couple of hours every few weeks and standard drives should do me fine?
