Me and the future Mrs LeBlanc will be getting married next year. Her old man is offering us his RCI credits (some time share doofer) so we can get accomodation almost everywhere but we will have to pay for flights.

We're looking for somewhere costal that wont be too hot during august. I want it to be peaceful but not completely boring (I can't spend an entire two weeks in a deck chair), Mrs LeBlanc likes historical stuff.

Any ideas?

Do you want to travel around or stay in one spot? If you fancy travelling, how about Athens (day trip to Delphi, plus all the local stuff in the centre), followed by Myconos (day trip to Delos) and Santorini (also many archeological things around)

That way, you combine archeology with beach and club holidays. For the heat, you can dive in the Aegean to cool down.

Alternatively, Rome could be the answer, and if you do get bored you could rent a car and head down to Vesuvius.

Venice I would object against - not enough to do for 2 weeks, and whilst its certainly remarkable, its more like "see once, never return" kind of place.

Italy & Sicily.

Go to the islands, go to the coast, go to Tuscany and go to the mountains.

All the beach, great food, decent wine and historical stuff you could want.

Rome is amazing, we had a hotel about 5 mins walk from the Colosseum. We walked around the entire place in the weekend we stayed. I would recommend it to anyone, however, there is no way in hell that i would ever want to drive around there.

You don't have to just go to one place. For my honeymoon we flew to Catania in sicily, and stayed a couple of nights in Toamina, then off to the Aeolian Islands off the north coast. After a few days there it was off to Pisa, then down to Umbria and Tuscany and finally a few days in Rome.

I'd go out of my head on any holiday if I had to stay in the same place for two or three weeks.

Very nice place, went to the maldives myself but dont think it would be your cup of tea as its a deck chair hol.

Italy is the place.
