I am a connoisseur of a good hose tbf.

Na I just have to unwind all 25m quite often and when I do, the stuff that's been wound on tight to the reel often kinks itself.

Maybe you just don't use the full length of your hose?
 
I got a Gardena hose pipe about 2 years ago and it’s still perfect, good pressure and has not twisted at all yet.

Not sure what one I got now im pretty sure it was the super flex version.
 
I bought a 3/4" hose about 12 years ago on the pitch that it was designed for daily use by farmers and would never kink, twist or crack. £65 quid, albeit quite a long hose. A *lot* of dosh for a hose back then.

I curse the salesman daily as it kinks and twists as if designed to do so, and it is now cracked like a dried up mud hole.
 
Cheapest option is to set up all the BBQ gear and arrange friends to come around X 3 times a week.

Guarantee it'll rain :cry:

I bought so many over the years, flat, coiled, cheap, brittle and finally spent that extra a few years ago and bought a Hozelock reel and gun. Guns are not exactly brilliant, but hose has been solid.

I bought more expensive hose and a expensive hose reel to screw to the wall.

The wife is the world no 1 expert at kinking hoses and it's only out 10ft.
I tell her how to do it but it never sinks in.

When I use the hose I pull a long length out and make sure it is straight - then start hosing -If I need more I go back to the tap - grab hose and pull some more of it making sure I lay the hose on the floor with a loop so when I pull
nozzle end the hose just slides and doesn't roll .

Winding hose I then go back along hose and pull enough to make a loop and keep doing that till all hose is layed out in a up and down loop - take any spray head off so pipe can roll and this stops loops - There are no twists in hose when I have rolled it up -
Wife on other hand has a lot of loops of crossed hose on reel - I just pull it off -pull it out flat then wind in again.

Do not pull knozzel back to reel to wind it up.
 
Ok so I do want a hose that will last, not kink and squash and twist. I can buy a spray nozzle separately. Will forego the reel for now and just keep it loose in the shed.

I don't know what is the right type of hose for quality but also thinking value for money.

I just uses the ones that expand when water goes through them. Cost me £17 for a 30m one and it never kinks up.

I'm a cheapskate though so I don't want to spend money on a hose.
 
Iv got a cheapo hosepipe and some hoselock connectors. Been using it for a few years. What's the issue ? Connects to my jetwash too

Just grab something from eBay.. don't go to bnq or Screwfix or any major retailers

Same with Wilkos own one. Bought a 30m one with "anti-kink" and it kinks every few metres.
Wilkos simply said that it's anti kink only refers to if it was on it's own hose reel (which is more expensive than the hose)

Nope, I like to buy the optimum product. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive for the sake of it, but the product which has the best combination of price features and quality. Doesn't matter if its a £1k GPU or a £5 dog lead.
 
The McGregor one looks good, or one that says anti kink, should be a solid pipe then

Do you have a Hosepipe in your possession?

I also have the Hozelock grey hose and it kinks like a mofo. I like the look of the Tuffhoze they do, got to be worth spending that bit extra.
