Spec me a hosepipe?

Im my personal experience Hozelock is trash.

I went for a 35m Gardena retractable which has been solid. Although, for the people who think £25 quid for a hose is too much the price I paid will make them weep!
35m Gardena Auto Reel is £224  at my local garden shop

So bought one of them 40m trash hozelock ones for £130

The Mrs says we've had this over 25 years and it gets used all the time.
The one thing we waste money on is cheap connections and accessories, perhaps someone could link to decent ones.

has dan decided what to buy ?

hose is fine .. I have a 50m hozelock starter set driving my karcher of that dia. 12.5mm/1/2" internal ... you could check how long it takes to fill a bucket.
they work by pulsing the water in squirts .. so the inlet flow rate doesn't have to be that great 10L/min is fine.

used it today - probably 10 years in, don't see any point in a reel one, leastaways my neighbour had problems recoiling hose kink free on his -
just need to learn how to coil the hose flat so it is kink free like https://youtu.be/Kiy6VNFii18?t=223 - I use a similar system for climbing ropes.

I've had the above one for 3 years now, with an added trigger nozzle, and it's fine.

Regarding kinking, the instructions said to always reel it in while pressurised, and turn off the tap afterwards. Sure enough, provided it's reeled in fairly evenly, it never kinks.

It comes with a wall mounting kit, but I just use the stand that the reel comes in and stow the hosepipe away in a storage box in the garden that we use to keep the recycling boxes in.

IMO a hosepipe screwed to the side of a house is an eyesore and I'm fine with spending an extra 30 seconds getting it out of storage and connecting it.

I'm not a firefighter.

Agree with this on kinking, never had an issue really with one of these.
