Need a hosepipe kit and can't believe how expensive these things are now?

Plus there are lay flat hoses, spiral concertina hoses, braided ones, ones with stripes, kink-free ones (ooh er), expanding ones, knitted ones.

I could do with 25m to reach from the back garden tap to either the bottom of the garden or round to the front with ease. And a trigger nozzle and some fittings to connect it to my pressure washer. Something to wind it up on after would be handy for storage.

I'd have thought £20-£25 for that would have been more than reasonable.

Or

And fittings something like this.

Deal of the day: Gardena 18291-20 System Basic Set - Black/Orange/Grey https://amzn.eu/d/bWvoMlr

£20-£25 for a 25m hose, connectors, trigger nozzle and a storage reel... hmmmm, I think you might need to reset your expectations.

I don't think you'll get much cheaper than that all in without spending time scouring the internet for individual bits and pieces from different brands/suppliers

How do you know whether that is a good quality hose though and won't kink?

You don't know and my experience of the cheaper hozelock stuff is that it probably will kink but you're looking for bargain basement stuff so you'll need to compromise somewhere.

I've got two of these, had one about 8 years and got the other more recently (sat for about a year outside unused)

I don't think they're extreme quality or anything but seem pretty good and do the job, got both connected going 50m up the lawn currently watering some new seed

I have this and it kinks like mad

Ok I'll spend a bit more then I suppose because I definitely want a hose that doesn't kink or go nasty.
Ya definitely man. I was looking to replace mine so it just doesn't make sense to buy twice. I ended up with a spear and Jackson gun which is mostly metal. Seems much better so fire.

Genuinely the hozelock guns are trash. Mine sprung a pin hole leak through the handle lol.

I find a valuable trick with hose guns is to leave them switched on in the winter. Turn the hose off at the tap. This means the gun isn't full of water and there is room for expansion in the cold weather.
