I need a HTPC for the living room which will play 1080p flawlessly. It also needs to have at least an i5 chip or faster as it will need to extract files at speed. Looking for something that look stylish and will fit into my cabinet.

This is a good start of an i5 build.

The on-boards may struggle at flawless 1080p, but you can add a GPU to ease that. theres a passive 7750 that looks good, though it is near £100..

What does you budget look like?

Thanks for the kick start!

Somethings to bear in mind. I would like to have an SSD for the OS for faster booting and also a nicer looking case than that.

Budget is about £500
