Hi all

today my phone has decided to randomly brick its self. Havent dropped it or anything it was sat next to my pc I saw it flash and now its just stuck in a endless loop. Tried soft/hard reset and nothing.

Now I dont think I really want an iphone again because of itunes and not having flash. I love my iphone but these are the two things that just wind me up.

I have heard good things about the Samsung galaxy but was wondering if there is anything else that is worth the money.

Cheers

you will have 90%+ answers all saying iphone 4, galaxy S or Desire and i agree with them, i have a galaxy S and its a great phone and im very happy with the purchase.

Thinking galaxy S to be honest a friend on mine has one and they look great. I just have a massive hate of Itunes which has given me alots of trouble.

Iphone4. I have not missed flash at all on either of my iPhones tbh.

I never missed it on 3+ years of iPhone ownership too but then again how can you miss something you've never had? :p

For me it improves browsing no end on sites like the BBC etc. (and it seems Apple will offer it in the future after all)

Op, forget the galaxy S and get a TAB!!!!!1!

Had an iPhone 3G, the Desire is a better phone in every single way.

I have friends who will no longer buy any phone other than an iPhone and whilst the iPhone 4 has an impressive screen (so has the Desire of course), records better HD Video, it still lacks lots of features that my Desire has.

If you're serious user of the features as proper smartphone has to offer, then you come to realise that the iPhone really lacks behind other phones feature set wise.

I've listed on this forum plenty of times, the things the Desire can do that the iPhone4 just doesn't.

i have no issues browsing the bbc website. what flash stuff do you need to see on there?

The iPhone has great iplayer support (In fact I still kinda prefer it on iOS :o), no I'm talking about all the flash content contained on the news/sport pages.

I love listing to an interview/watch highlights whilst reading the story on the same page, how about the massive new(ish) video section? Easy peasy! There's bags of other stuff too, it's exactly the same as the desktop version and a world away from viewing it on safari or any app. Grab a phone running flash 10.1 and try it out, you'd be surprised how much your missing.

The only bad thing about it? my 500mb monthly cap... :p

Ah right. I just dont go near that side of things on the site. anything requiring larger bandwith I wait till im home or on another wifi :p

I will say, the BBC site causes my browser to crash quite often on my Desire when it has flash on the pages. Have seen other people moan about this too.

^ that's worth checking.
I've haven't had a browser crash yet, on any site. Occasionally a few vids don't register and it just renders white space but apart from that its been rock solid and quite smooth. (I think the last browser crash I had was on iOS 1.3 :p)

Just make sure its got plenty of memory and 80/90% of the CPU available too.

Before you go spending money, have you tried a DFU restore?

Does sound like it's gone to phone heaven (or hell, depending on your perspective), but you've got nothing to lose by trying.

PS - I've had a few Safari crashes from the iOS4 version. Never had them before the OS upgrade and I suspect the new multi-tasking is to blame.
