spec me a joystick for bf2

well ive got a razor diamondback 3g or what ever.... but been trying to play with it and ...... not a chance! i suck even worse than i did with just the keyboard :p but been round my mates and played some 2142 with the joystick and he was giving me lessoins and its so much better than the mouse i find so im definitly going to get one.... but still undecided about what to get, got my results form uni so might see if the parents want to fork out on a good one for me ;) sidewinder2 off the bay, saitek cyborg evo or that over exp[ensive saitek one

I still love my Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 :D Fond memories of my first thrustmaster many many years ago.

I hope you dont use that just to play BF2 :p

In answer to OP: I love my Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2. Great joystick and I've used it since my early IL2 days and its still going strong :)

Microsoft Sidewinder are solid and will last you many, many years. I have never liked Saitek's myself.

Another satisfied MS Sidewinder F.Feedback 2 user - I love it so much I'm getting a second for when I can no longer repair mine! Without a doubt the finest joystick available and can be had for as little as £20 ;)

 i demand u look on my trust and tell me where from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!etc etc u get the idea :D

still not in stock :( althogh i have been looking at this cyborg evo and is there an issue with when u have the throttle on full that when u pull the stick all the way back they interfere with eachother, ie. trying to occupy the same space so you'll either not full back all the way or cut the throttle? maybe thinking about the logitech force 3d... this any good? as its the same price as the cyborg force but in stopck and has better placement of buttons on the base

From the source of all things 2nd had of course - Fleabay!

I actually managed to get one brand new for £45 which I was happy with, but I had previously lost out on a second had one for a grand total of £22 including delivery - not too bad for such an awesome bit of kit.

lol this thread reminded me of when i landed a jet on wake island, inbetween a serious cross-fire war lol got out, shot someone then took back off :D:D:D was amazing lol cannot believe I pulled it off.

p.s. i didnt land on the runway lol... just some random dirt on the east base iirc

What is the force-feedback version like? I'm toying with either getting this or the Avi8tor old style stick...

That doesn't happen with the cyborg. There's a 1 inch gap when the throttle is up full and the stick is pulled back.

right well im gunna get that saitek evo..... just force feedback or normal or the wireless? the force really worth? and also theres an extra power cable isnt there? are there many games that actually use the force? any prob with wireless like cutting out of sig or lag?

I cannot overstate how good Force Feedback really is. I used to play a lot of the early Need for Speed games and I actually found that the Joystick gave me a better game than the FF wheel as you could feel the acceleration forces through the stick. You could even feel the different textures of the roads through the stick which was awesome, especially on stages with snow/ice on the roads.

Get it - love it - never go back! ;)

right well they ave finially got them in stock :D hoorah!!!!! now im definitly going with the evo, and i would like the force one but does it only use a usb? or is there a seperate power cable with it also? because if there is ill be more tempted to go with the normal over the force, and what about the normal wireless is that on par weith its cabled brother?

aww boooo :( not a fan of more cables :p might just go for the normal one then as it is cheaper tooo :D

also if ya dont want to FFB on can u just turn it off and not plug it into the mains?
