Yep, looking for a new kettle as the one we have is slowly dying and I can't do without my cuppa! I'm looking for a kettle that uses the brita filters as the water here in London is lousy. Does anyone use one of these or can recommend one? I've read a couple of reviews about the Brita Acclario model but they weren't very good.

Morphy Richards Illuma Jug Kettle 43127 Stainless Steel Finish

tbh

Don't buy a Morphy Richards. The last two i have had have been rubbish.

The first one had an issue with the lid deciding to pop open randomly when the kettle was boiling and the second, a diffrent style and model, has exactly the opposite, it's solid to get the lid off. Which you need to do as the spout is too small to be used to fill it up.

So i'm not buying another, ever. Maybe it's just the ones i have bought but they have been poorly designed.

Do people actually care what a kettle looks like?

It's very very important. How can you make a proper cup of ground coffee by boiling up the water in a 90s era dirty cream kettle?

Just get the most powerful one, 3100w was the best i could find when getting mine. Boils very very quickly. That clear one above does look very nice though :)

I have a "Breville Brita Brushed Stainless Steel" that I got from a high street catalogue store. Just looked it's now £39.99. In cambridge the water is awful for tea. I never even drunk the stuff because I didnt like the taste. Now with this kettle I can drink tea and enjoy it again.

Expensive but a great kettle.

Yup, got a Philips one 3100W, boil 1.6 Litres in about 2 mins.

I had a superb Morphy Richards Colour Changing Kettle that was blue and went hot pink when it got hot.
