Maximum budget for this is £100, but I'd prefer to stay around the £60 if at all possible. At the moment I'm currently using a Logitech Easycall Desktop Suite, which is basically an MX600 (I think) and a special Skype-oriented keyboard. For £25, it's lasted a while but for some reason (regardless of how often I change the batteries) the signal seems to be pretty bad, and the mouse is starting to double-click when I single click.

I game quite often (although not as much now that I have a 360) so this is a factor. I'd like to stay away from wireless if at all possible as there might be something around that's interfering (the receiver currently sits 10cm away from my current set up).

I'm maybe thinking of going Bluetooth - the Logitech MX5500 is quite a nice set. Anyone any experience with this for gaming and the like? Also, I would imagine that it doesn't work with the BIOS and OS installs?

Other than that, I've looked at things like the G11 and G5 but someone somewhere was saying they're starting to show their age compared to other newer products.

What's the verdict?

Honestly, you can't beat a logitech media elite (gotta love vintage keyboards!).

Anyway, a friend has the lycosa, seems to like it and I can recommend the Deathadder though I still like my original Diamondback so maybe the 3g?

Frankly a decent mouse makes more of a difference than a keyboard so make sure you can type on the keyboard properly. The lycosa has laptop style keys fyi

Either the razer deathadder or Roccat Kone V2 they are both gd choices and keyboards i would go for the razer tarantula:)
My mate has a tarantula, I didn't like the feel of it. I can't actually remember *what* I didn't like about it, but I remember thinking "hmm this is expensive but I wouldn't buy it"...

I'll take a look at the Lycosa, but if it's laptop keys like mentioned I'll probably give that a miss as well, I like my tactile feedback.

Not sure about the mice. Everyone seems to recommend the Razor, so I'll take a look. That's the only thing I hate about online shopping, I can't try stuff out before I buy it. :(

I wouldn't recommend a Razer keyboard, I think they are cheaply made but very over priced, they are nothing special at all, a £15-£20 Cherry keyboard would be a far better bet if you actually intend to use the keyboard to type for extended periods, I quite like the angled keyboards too, not the split ergonomic type but the ones that are slightly angled, I have a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 here and it's pretty good, all said and done, it's not brilliantly made either but it does only cost £14.

The Saitek Eclipse keyboards are decent too, The 1 and 2 anyway, personally I think from a styling point of view they rather over did it with the III and the Cyborg but I imagine they are well made as the previous ones were.

Logitech, Microsoft, Saitek, Cherry I can recommend all of them to one degree or another and one of them is bound to have something to suit you. I can't recommend Razer keyboards though, they just do not live up to their prices, not even close. However Razer's mice are brilliant and I can't recommend them enough, the Death Adder is a wonderful mouse.

I would also recommend the Logitech MX518, the Razer Diamondback and the new Gigabyte GM-M8000 Ghost is nice too, I had a play with one the other day, lovely shape and feel, well made and highly configurable.

A mouse is perhaps a more personal thing than a keyboard, it's crucial that you get one that fits your hand well and that suits your grip and the way you use it. I know it sounds a bit 'overcomplicated' for a mouse, but getting the right one is quite important, so which one suits you is entirely subjective and none of us can really say, I would suggest you have a read around and a look at the usual suspects, which have all been mentioned here by either me or others.
