I currently have an (7yrs) old Dell ps/2 keyboard.

I t works absolutely fine, which is why i didn't replace it when i built my computer.

I am however increasingly concious of the fact that it is rather noisy, and seeing as the computer is in my bedroom it is a bit anti-social for my wife.

Therefore I am thinking of replacing it with something a bit quieter.

Usage: General computer usage, e.g word processing, emailing etc. I also game a lot, however seeing as I have never owned a gaming keyboard, I have obviously managed to live without it so far, so I am not sure I definitely need something designed for gaming.

obviously quietness is probably the most important consideration.

I have heard that cherry is a good make, i was looking at the cherry infinity or the cherry strait. Anyone own a cherry keyboard -any thoughts?

I would also welcome other suggestions?

You could try a Filco keyboard with the brown Cherry MX switches. It is a high quality keyboard and the brown Cherry MX key switches give a tactile feel but not the noisier click of the blue Cherry MX switches.

Filco keyboards are also available with black Cherry MX key switches which are without the tactile feel or the click

They are not cheap, however, they are quality.
