The Choppa!
I'm sat here using the on-screen keyboard as I broke my cheapo one. :p

I'm looking to get a good gaming one - are mechanical keyboards worth it?

Thanks.

Price TBD. Is the UK Filco Majestouch-2, Tenkeyless a good'un?

I had a mechanical keyboard and I absolutely loved it, the only downside was that I paid over £120 for mine as it was the Razer BlackWidow Elite. I got rid of it due to money problems and I had a spare keyboard anyhow, I would definitely go for one.

The downside is that they are loud as anything ;_;

Im in a similar position. Want to swap my wireless logitech business keyboard which is bum for gaming, to somthing more suitably paired with my new Razer Deathadder I got for Christmas. Ideally id like to spend under £50 though!

If you are not worried about back-lit keyboards, a Filco would be a good option. Or a SteelSeries 6Gv2. Cherry MX red / black mechanical for less noise, Cherry MX brown for tactile 'bump', MX blues probably too much.

For back-lit, I would go for a Qpad MK-80 (XArmor U9 keyboards, re-badged). They do them right now with a full selection of MX mechanical switches. MK-85 too expensive, but have USB n-key faceroll (NKRO MK-80 only available on the PS2 connector, although it has 6KRO on USB iirc). I like the new corsairs, but they went cheap with some non-mechanical keys.
