I don't have a lot of desktop space:

I would like a compact-ish gaming keyboard so I have more room for a mouse.

Current keyboard is a cheap Logitech 120 which is approx 47cm long.

I do like having numeric keypad, but could probably do without one if I'm honest, so what's my best bet for a Tenkeyless keyboard, probably mechanical switched, maybe with backlighting - Doesn't need to be £150 or anything silly.

Looking to shave about 10cm off the length

Have a look at the coolermaster quickfire tk. Tenkeyless size but has a full size numpad integrated into the arrow keys which you toggle on and off with numlock. Mine has survived 2 years of abuse without fail and coolermaster support has been top notch when I lost a key cap.

You just have to decide on a switch type.

Brown methinks.

I looked at that one earlier, seems like it might fit the bill.

Also looked at the Masterkeys Pro S, but that was a bit pricey.

What about a Rapid i? That seems to be LED illuminated without the 16.8 billion colours....then again same sort of size as the TK.

I also have a quickfire TK with brown switches. Very happy with it and the smaller footprint would be ideal for you. RGB colours are a gimmick that wears off pretty quickly although YMMV.
