Spec me a label maker

Dad wants one for christmas, a look around the usual shops reveals there's a very large selection, and not many reviews, so where better to come to than GD?
Anyone got a label maker they can recommend? One of the hand-held single line printing ones, doesn't need to be a huge business one or anything. Preferably with a removable backing so it can stick to things like that. Doesn't need to do anything fancy, just the basics, and how often does it need new label tape? I don't really want one that gets through it too quickly, obviously.

Sorry, I should have clarified. Its just one of the hand-held single line jobbies that you can just peel the back off and stick to things.

Thanks for the pointer. Looks like the 1010 isn't made anymore, just the 1090. However, I've found a store selling the P-Touch PT-1005F for £15 which looks similar enough, and given its still a Brother machine and from the same series, it should use the same tape as well.
