The words "portable" and "games" don't really go together. Playing games and powerful gpu's result in short battery life. I can't actually find a laptop under 15.4" with a decent graphics card.
The only vaguely suitable options are the Dell XPS M1330 or the ASUS Lamborghini series but these still won't play games like cod4 or crysis anywhere near high settings - tbh they'd be pushed to run them at low settings. Not to mention they aren't cheap.
Sorry... should have been more specific.
I'll be using it for games, but nothing like crysis,
I just meant that it had to have an alright graphics card,
I don't need a good one.

my gf has been looking at the hp artist designs for the pavillion dv2800 series. that fits your bill i think, from the store, £549 (not the artist version), 14.1 screen, 8400GS.
The HP dv2800, 2810, 2815, 2820 all have 1.86Ghz cpus.
I found a special edition laptop reduced in john lewis. I can't remember the model number but it's....
14.1", 2.1Ghz, 3GB RAM, geforce 8400M, plus it looks really nice and has a 2 year warranty. This one is £750.
Doesn't seem like a lot more for the extra £200, though...
Any advice?
