Hi,
I seem to remember that the ACER laptop that I had 5 or 6 years ago the battery would last about 6 hours. On my Sony Vaio that I have atm the battery life is quite poor, maybe 2 hours even with all the power saving stuff switched on.
I am guessing this is becase the Core2Duo CPU is uses quite a lot of megahertz.
So I want a laptop that has a nice screen, so 15inch plus, but that the battery will last a long enough time. Can you also buy ones that come with a 12V adapter so that it can be used off a 12V battery when there's no shorepower?
It will be used as a chart-plotter so it doesn't need to be that powerful although some charts can be quite big, and for getting the weather forecast.
Thanks!
