Dont post often but I am a long time lurker. I know this is posted a lot but I'm looking for modern gaming laptop recommendations.

It'll require 4gig ram and a good graphics card. Not too bothered about the size/weight/look of things as long as it does what I want it to. Got a budget of around £750 but it could be negotiable depending on the specs of the laptop.

I'll be wanting to use it when Im away from my main pc- so it'll need to be able to run 3DS Max, Zbrush and UE3/CryEngine2 (but Im not too bothered if I can only play the games themselves on low-medium settings- its more that I want to use my assets in the engine)

If theres not a good laptop for the £750 price range, could people recommend a good spec laptop graphics card I should be looking at and I'll work around that.

Been interested in the Dell Vostro 1710 but I dont think it has the graphics capabilities Im after.

Any help appreciated, thanks guys.

Get an Acer Aspire 6930G with 1GB Nvida 9600M GT graphics, 4GB ram, 250GB HDD for £587 from a leading highstreet catalogue store.

I have one and it's fantastic. Not too keen on Dell laptops, their build quality has gone down in recent years.

thanks for the reply. Is it actually a whole 1gb though- or is it shared memory like some?

Any idea if it can run Unreal Tournament 3/Crysis and their relevant game engines?

Thats my main point. I have a laptop at the minute and its fine, but it doesnt run UT3/Crysis so I just use it to store and watch films/tv shows and its kind of going to waste

Yes it has 1GB of dedicated graphics ram which is not shared.

Not played Crysis myself on this laptop, but here's a YouTube demo of this model playing Crysis -
