Spec me a laptop

What will you use it for? What screen size are you comfortable with? Portability required, etc? you have to be more specific if you want someone to help you more.
 
I am just going to use it for to browse the internet and use it for media playback,

Mainly general use.

I would prefer a screen size of 15.6'' or bigger

Have you seen his sig?! Pretty sure he DOESN'T need a desktop. Have a look at the Dell Studio a few of us forum types got, the thread is near the top of the list. Typing on it now, its really nice, screen is excellent, and can cope with games competently as well as all the other stuff.

Deal is over on that one we all got now im afraid!
 
Could get an inspiron for that price. 17" screen is unlikely fr that budget unless you want the worst of the worst. Or if you buy used you might be able to get a higher spec for that sort of money.
