Spec me a laptop

Mainly for web browsing and the occasional movie and not so gpu demanding games like Sims...not for me . Just looking for best bang for buck laptop; nothing fancy, just something that is reliable and then can go from there.

Any particular manufacturers I should avoid? Acer?
