Wife needs new laptop. Loves her Surface that she uses for work but £lol.

Budget: £500ish
Size: 14" max

Don't care about the brand or anything, it's been about a billion years since I bought a laptop so have no clue what's what and who's who in the zoo.

Any suggestions pls.

I've had a couple of decent Dell laptops from MM, the most recent one being a Dell Latitude 5580 for £85. You should be able to find a decent one there if you're willing to either look in MM or bide your time for the right one.

The one from my photos? I rarely say this but she's a 10. We built a new gym at work and nobody ever used it, she then started doing yoga classes and when it was taking place the gym was stuffed with blokes. Haven't seen her in years!

For high end laptops just get a MacBook but for budget stuff then the business laptops like Dell Latitude and Lenovo Thinkpad are rock solid and easy to service.

Dell has an official outlet store for refurbished laptops, I got a basic latitude as a second laptop during the pandemic 256GB SSD, 16GB Ram etc. for like £100 or £150 or so on there.

Looks like a steal for an OLED.. Bit bigger than you want at 16" though.

I bought a very similar one recently in 13.Something inch screen and really like it but they don't seem to be available at sensible prices any more.
