Hi all

So we got £30 in Love2shop vouchers but need a new large frying pan as the top coating is coming off, and also a medium saucepan as it’s no longer round and thus the lid doesn’t fit properly

Hit me with some knowledge fine people
Nothing to fancy!

TJhughes is decent.

go with morphy richards though if you buy from there and it's not in person
random examples. you could go cheaper... but if you go too cheap pans can get kinda thin :p I was in the store the other week flicking them all to see what sounded best... beats paying £50-100 for a pan in fenwicks ....

£12

£16

shame the wilko pan doesn't say how many mm thick it is for comparison, the ones I saw in wilko in person the other week seemed kinda bottom of the budget types from the fingernail flick test.

TJhughes is crazy bargains inside btw if you have a store in your city.
there's more choice in the Newcastle store than I see on the website

I got a large + medium frying pan.
medium sauce pan.
garlic press
pasta serving spoon
plug+sink saver

£36 :D felt like a proper old codger bargain hunting lol.....

I think the saucepan I linked is the same I bought, I cooked aunt betsy frozen mash potato in it worked amazingly , not one single spec of potato stuck to the pan

So a twist to this:
One of my friends neighbours were given a pan-set away for free as they were given new ones for Christmas
My friend has collected them and say they are in good shape
Believe they are:

Sans frying pan
Further, the vouchers I got cannot be used in Wilko for whatever reason…
So we have £30 for a frying pan
tk maxx? or just go argos... get the most expensive pan you can within your budget.

why do people gift vouchers when cash is better.... people think giving cash is crude but would never want a voucher themselves I bet

unless you live in londom most city centres seem really terrible for actually shopping for house hold items.

almost no choice anywhere, so few shops etc..

I couldn't even find a vegetable steamer rack thing for a hob in any stores I tried... like no one cooks vegetables anymore? or everyone just orders online
