Am Currently using a Samsung S27B750 but I'm looking to upgrade my monitor set up around mid July to August and am looking for an excellent 4k gaming monitor to pair up with two 1080's in SLI.

I'll have a soft budget of about £800, I should be able to go a bit higher if needed and was thinking of the Predator X34A but am wondering if there is anything better.

What can you guys recommend?

Picked up my X34A yesterday. And I'm loving it so far.

I havent experienced any other ultra-wide monitor.

The most standout thing so far have been the quality of these speakers. Now I'm no sound connoisseur but the speakers on the X34 sound really good...

I had a 40" UHD and X34A at home for a while and both were similar foot print but the 40" being much taller. In the end the wide aspect of the 34" X34A won out as it's great in sims/RPGs and still has enough desktop space for two side by side windows.

I run the X34A at 100Hz which is nice for general Windows feel and helps with response in games but I limit my games to 75 fps as that is usually an achievable number with occasional drops (which are unnoticeable with G-SYNC) and tends to reduce the load on the GPU and hence temps. 1 x 980 Ti.

Wow, the XB321HK looks exactly what I was looking for too :) Just got to wait for the 1070s to be out, cos my current GPU isn't going to cut it ^^;

How good are curved monitors for viewing films at a distance?

Depends how far away, but personally I'm not a fan of any IPS monitor for movie watching... the blacks and contrast ratio just isn't as good as most TV's, so it's not something I personally do. The aspect ratio is nice though when it's full screen with no black bars, very immersive and cinematic.
