DVI and 2 HDMI input and LED, only problem is the response time is 8ms compared to other 2ms monitors but I'm not sure if that would be a huge problem.

Do you definitely need a LED monitor because I have a Samsung P2450H monitor and it's perfect for 1080P gaming and films. I don't think there is a major difference in picture quality between LED's and LCD's.

Problems with which monitor? My Samsung is flawless, the colours are vibrant and bright. It's rated very highly too, read some of the comments on OCUK and other sites. I'm not sure about the BenQ monitor as I've never used one before.

Just wanted to correct some confusion over the terminology here.

"LED" is not an alternative to LCD. LED refers to the backlight technology. An LED monitor still uses LCD technology to form the images that you see on the screen.

(The older backlighting technology is Cold Cathode tubes).

I've been wondering this too as my if I use the DVI port on my monitor it locks the system up. Tried a different GFX card and same result. Both ATI 5870 and a loan 5570 cards.

What's a better connection, DVI or HDMI? Want quality and I do a little bit of gaming, but not much these days. GTA IV etc.

The video signal is equal in terms of quality and the two connections are very much interchangable (which is why converter cables are so readily available and often supplied with monitors). The main difference with HDMI is that it also carries an audio signal. There are differences in bandwidth between HDMI specifications and DVI Dual Link vs. single but these dictate the maximum refresh rate and resolution that can potentially be supported by a monitor. Some monitors are setup to (or simply do, in practice) act differently depending on the signal input and in some cases this can dictate which cable choice is best. If you are having issues with your 5870 running DVI then by all means try HDMI - provided your Catalyst drivers are up to date you shouldn't really have any problems.

bah, :( received the the IIyama Prolite E2473HDS today and i didnt like it!! 1 dead pixel on the bottom and TN colour shift is so annoying. im going back on my 2407wfp-hc or look for another IPS panel.
