Spec me a lens + other bits and pieces

I have a canon 350D body, which is a bit old but it still works as it's barely used.

Essentially I need some sort of setup to take high quality pictures of used cars, to use for advertising.

Anyone know what kind of setup I should go for? I did see on another website that EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 is the one to go for with a filter, anyone able to recommend something more cost effective, or should I just bite the bullet?

What budget did you having in mind?

I would say a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 which I believe is half the price of the Canon.

Budget wise, maybe £800 or less?

Tamron 17-50 can be had for around the £250-300 mark new so that is an option well within budget. In fact, for that budget you could get a 17-50, two flash guns (yongnuo 565s) and umbrellas + stands
