Spec me a low end Digital camera

Im looking for a camera for around £100

Ive found this so far

BenQ DC C1000 10.1mp 3x Digital Camera - Free 1GB SD Card Included

cant post a link because its a competitor but its £105 delivered with a 1gb SD card

Does anyone know much about this camera or whether theres anythin better for this low budget. Theres loads of sony and fuji camera which are around 7.1MP so im not sure whether to get a less known make with higher MP or more established make with lower MP

Pixels aren't everything. 10Mp in a compact means a very small pixel pitch on the sensor which means lots of image noise. At 10Mp you'll also see the shortcomings of the lens more easily and at £100 it's not going to be the greatest lens ever.

Personally I wouldn't go above 6 or 7Mp for a compact, it's just not worth it.

i work for the company you cant metion , dont buy one there rubbish loads returned buy a FUJI FinePix S5600

Isn't that a £200 camera?

edit: Scratch that. Appears it can be had for £120. Seems quite good value actually.

no you can get them for 100 now or 115 with accs google it

thanks for the advice just had a quick look and seems reasonable

forgive me here because im a big time camera noob but will this FUJI FinePix S5600 which is 5mp be of a higher quality than the sony or olympus alternative which are 7.1mp

what i hate about these compact camera is that, many people go for.g 6mp-8mp camera and use it on 1-2mp so they can shoot more without realising the image is gonna be small.

or

they shoot at 6-8mp, send pictures without resizing. Really fun when you trying to open photo in third world country on a 56k dial-up-connection.

they should make ALL digital compact camera less then 4mp.

Hi there

This might be well under your budget but will give you an idea of what a decent 5MP camera give:-
OcUK review FujiFilm FinePix A500 5MP Camera

Its only £55 +VAT so its a very good price, as already mentioned don't buy the BenQ as those are crap get a decent camera from Fuji or Canon ideally.

I deliberated long and hard and after speaking to one or two people ive just purchased the Fuji finepix F20

i love it

its my first real digital camera which isnt attached to a phone and its fantasic. Im a real camera noob but heres a photo i took earlier today

looks good to me for a £130 camera but like i said im a camera noob
