As per title, thanks to my trusty old Zalman biting the dust today, I’m in need of a new PSU.

It was an 850w unit, although that was more than I needed for my system, and I don’t intend updating it anytime soon, so I could go 750 or 850, depending on price.

On that note, I’d rather stay around the £100 mark, but will pay a little more for the right unit.

My main need is low noise - it must be quiet running. I never once heard the Zalman, which was the main reason I bought it at the time.

Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

Top end Seasonic (Prime range) Semi Fanless so the fan comes on when its needed either depending on the load or temperature. I've never had a problem with any Seasonic PSU & fan noise. Some of the Superflower PSU's are Semi fanless too, I've got one in my 'flagship' rig & that's quiet. There are Asus & Phanteks Semi fanless models. Buying one these days can be a lottery as coil whine can be an issue.

I'm running a corsair rmx850 (2021) model and it has a fanless mode and even when the fan is active I can only hear it if I'm specifically listening for it (the psu vent of o11 evo is about 1m from my ear)

Almost anything from the usual brands will be whisper quiet

I've only ever owned Corsair PSUs and I've had a few of them: HX650, AX760i, HX750, HX850 and HX1200i. And each one I've never ever heard the fan
