Im going mad here!
I have a range of mobo's to use, as well as a PSU, the only thing I am going round in circles on is choosing a case for my homebuilt NAS.

ideally I would like something similar to the Chenbro ES34069 NAS case.
The only reason I have not gone for this case is because I can't stick an e-sata pci card in it as it has no back mounting for the card - I have been looking for a case mod, but no luck.
I will be using a mini-itx board which I understand can be used in micro-atx cases, I want a small tower or SFF case which can hold 4 hot-swap drives (I am presuming I will have to convert from 5.25" bays) and the ability to add a card for e-sata. Im looking for the case to be as small as possible, from comparing the sizes, I know it won't be as small as the chenbro NAS, for some reason m-atx seems a lot deeper..
As I am not up in the latest case designs, Im looking for links or suggestions in case I have missed a site where hopefully there are zillions of cases which have the features I am looking for :D

I know I can use a tranquil pc or a drobo and it would probably be cheaper, but that just wouldn't be as much fun as building myself and I want 2 x multiport e-sata as I know storage will become an issue if I limit myself.....

Thx

Yes i was in the same suit. Apart from shuttle cases which I really have no idea on. I spent ages looking for a small case that could handle a lot of HDD's and in the same I gave up and went with a tranquil.

Some guy did a mod where he made a cube (ish) case hold 4 Hot swappable drives. It's the only case I've seen that will take that many drives (apart from the chenbro). Do a search for "Project Udat". I managed to find another case that will hold a M-ITX board, a half height PCI card and 5 hard drives (non swappable) but its not currently available.

Yeah, I saw the UDAT mod - loved it, but having the tools and skills to do it is a completely different matter...
Cheers for the Boks link - off searching now...
