spec me a mac video editor

I'm looking for a video editor for the mac, imovie seems a little awkward to use multiple audio streams etc. I'm use to using corel video & sony vegas on the PC and want something similar on the mac, what can you recommend?

Final Cut Pro X - though it's similar in nature to iMovie. Kinda iMovie on steroids.

£200 is a bit steep for what I need it for, was considering the adobe premier but not sure how good it is. The main issue I have is I like time lines where I can easily insert audio, zoom in and carefully move it along to sync with the video. most of the software now is for novice's and is drag and drop into chapters.

You can do that easily. Free trial of Premiere on the Adobe website. I think its great so you should give it a go =]
