Spec me a mac

I want a mac for running logic 8, what do you reckon i'm looking for, never bought a mac personally so i'm entirely new to the whole thing, how much do they differ from pcs in terms of requirements?

good point, could someone move it? would like to spend below 2 grand preferably, will need around 1tb storage.

The best route would probably be an iMac with an external hard drive of some sort. (The iMac can only have one internal HD), and the base spec of the Mac Pro is something like £1700 (a lot more than even the best iMac) and adding the monitor/extra space etc would send it way over 2 grand.
