Spec me a manly toolkit!

Shopping list for you:
1x hammer
1x needlenose pliers
1x hacksaw
1x screwdriver set
1x adjustable spanner
1x allen key set
1x tape measure

Get a big toolbox that will hold it all, and has little compartments for spare screws etc.

I wouldn't recommend cheap tools unless you are on a tight budget and you don't mind buying reguly. All my cheap tools are broke or bent, screwdriver ends are rounded off etc. Angle grinder keeps coming apart and jamming the switch on, socket heads sheer in half. It's just a pain in the neck.

This. I used to buy cheap and they just break. Started to then replace broken stuff with "quality" stuff which then lasts years.

Buying cheap (especially screwdrivers) is a waste of money,

Cheers for the list billy. That's pretty much all i've come up with so far. Will get a spirit level as well. Multimeter might be an idea too as suggested but then I don't have the first clue about electronics, so not sure about that one :p

Where would be a good place to pick this stuff up? Somewhere like screwfix, B&Q, halfords? Any places/brands to ignore? Obviously the super cheap stuff.
