ok people i need a spec for a media centre pc. my misses comp just blew so im going to build a media centre and hook it up to my lcd (she is in that room mainly), so no monitor is needed. needs to have wireless keyboard / mouse , remote control and a network card etc. good amount of space , tv card and a gfx card that can handle HiDef stuff, plenty of trailers etc. my budget for this is around £600 , i can squeeze a bit more if needed tho.

Main uses : Tv, freeview, Inet, Chat, Email and trailers / films

Many thanks in advance,

Rich

That seems fine, however you could a similar spec into a MATX setup. ie Passive 6150/430 MATX. That 7300 GT Geforce has a fan.

(I use a Asus MATX 6150, 3700+, 1GB, Silverstone TJ-08 for the HTPC)

thanks for that man, building it wont be a problem, so that spec will do anything i need media wise?
Assuming that your are not doing any (heavy) encoding, that spec should do fine. I know you can maybe get a C2D setup but that will mean compromising other areas like hard disk which is more crucial!

Onboard GFX (NVIDIA 6150) also should do like suggested ;)
