If its possible I would like to add a 2x4GB kit to my current 2x2GB kit. I probably don't need 12GB but the price difference between getting an extra 4GB and 8GB of ram is so small that I might as well. An 8GB kit would also mean that if running the two kits together didn't work out I would still have the 8GB I need.
The 2x2GB kit I have (OCZ Special ops) runs at 1600Mhz, 8-8-8-24 @ 1.65V, but is currently sitting at 1333Mhz because i've been too lazy to change the bios. Ideally I'd like a 2x4GB kit that can be paired with my current RAM at its proper speed as well as something that would be suitable for an upgrade to sandybridge/ ivybridge/ haswell/ whatever in the future, which I believe requires significantly lower voltage than 1.65V. It isn't essential, but I would prefer that it didn't have a tall heatsink in case I change my cooler.
Is there anything better than the Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB to go alongside what I have for a similar price? I dont mind about the latency difference, but if there is something for a similar price that can do 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 at 1.5-1.65V i would prefer it.
