Just been though the finding a replacement microwave thing. The paint fell off the inside of the new one. The only requirement I gave the missus before she started shortlisting was that it had to have a metal interior.
After spending around 3 weeks in vary shops and reading reviews she ordered the Sharp R898SLMa from tesco. Its 900watts, with a convenction oven and grill function. Seems solidly built, but I've not used it for any function beyond basic zapping of food. Its also quite large. I will get round to cooking a pizza in it at some point

Suppose it depends on what you want it to do. We recently got a Sharp R26STM for about £70, looks nice in the corner of the kitchen, brushed aluminium type, very easy to use. 800W. Says on the comet website that it is also a convection oven, but not seen any features on how to use that (not read the manual tbh).

Out of all the manufacturers, the Sharp ranges looked the best, although Panasonic weren't far behind.

had a Sharp lasted 15yrs.

Bought a very swanky looking Breville for £180. 1 month laster it died. The replacement BURST INTO FLAMES!!!

Spent £200 on a new Sharp - it's quality.
Whilst I don't like cooking food in the micro you notce the food isn't as dried out and cooked more evenly.

Sharp's are the best!

Better yet, ditch the micro and learn how to cook!
are you actually serious? do you own a microwave? are you making the assumption that everyone with a microwave uses it purely for lazy microwave meals? never for -=*SHOCK HORROR*=- reheating food?

Sharp and Panasonic huh? will do!

I have a Panasonic NN-A554W, it has a 1,000W microwave, 1300 quartz grill, 220c convection fan assisted oven, which equates to 240c in a normal oven.

When I moved, the new house had no cooker, and this microwave eliminates the need for one, it's a fantastic oven, I just use one of those mains double hobs if I need to use pans etc.

It's £150 in the supermarket set for world domination, you can get it for £130 online.
