Spec me a Mobo / CPU / RAM combo...

Hi guys and gals,

After 8 years of loyal service my second PC, an old Q6600 has finally died on me and I need to replace the Mobo / CPU and RAM. I've got an old 4890 in it that will do until I get a new GPU for my main machine and hand down my trusty 7950. I use this for fairly basic gaming when my son kicks me off my PC, usually multiplayer Orcs Must Die 2, Gauntlet etc, although I'd like to have enough CPU power to run BF4 etc. Resolution is 1920x1200.

I don't want to spend more than £200... far less would be much better

What case, PSU, drives do you have?

I have a large Antec case (P120?), plenty of room, 620W Corsair PSU, SSD drive for OS and games, SATA for data, other games.

I had spotted that bundle Stulid, and it's probably within my budget at a pinch. I was looking for some cheaper options that I can compare it with.

Only way to save on that with an Intel chip is to drop down from an I5 to an I3, which would save ~£40-£50, whilst using the same motherboard and memory as that bundle.

You could pick up a nice bundle in the MM for well under your budget.
