Hi,

im on NTL 10mb broadband, and im pretty sure i aint getting the full 10 mb because of my modem and router. I've had NTL for about 8-9 years now and have used the same modem and router all that time. The modem is a motorla surf board SB3100 and the router is a netgear Rp114, so im in doubt that its time to upgrade both.

Can someone spec me both products or maybe one thats does both. Wouldnt mind a wireless one but as long as it has ports on it for mine and my bros computers, just would need the wireless for my laptop and mums laptop.

Budget: £110

Thanks
Murzo

The DG834GT Super G (108 Mbps) Wireless ADSL Modem Router provides continuous, untethered access to network resources and the Internet. The DG834GT is simple to use; there is no need for a separate modem, it plugs directly into your ADSL line, allowing you to easily share a broadband connection with all your computers either wirelessly or with wires.

The DG834GT combines 5 products in 1: an ADSL modem, a router, a 4-port 10/100 switch, a 108 Mbps Super G wireless access point and an SPI True Firewall. Up to ten times faster than 802.11b (11 Mbps), the DG834GT allows you to instantly download large files, videoconference, and play high-quality digital movies, photos and MP3s.

(i think this comes with 1 usb wireless dongle)

for around £75 Excluding postage.

Edit

You will need to buy seprate wireless adaptors for each of the laptops.

The 3100 isn't capable of handling the full 10mbit and they know it so should be more than happy to swap it over foc. Also with 20mbit on the way you're better off doing it now :) WRT54GL seems to be attracting more users on here due to the ability to run DD-WRT (custom linux firmware that's got a load of additional features such as QOS).
