That dell does looks nice I was looking at the 27 inch version but its glossy :( thanks for tips I will read up some reviews.

Bit of everything really I do like my FPS and RTS, at the moment i am playing Red orchestra 2, Arma 3 mostly. I was looking at the 144 MHz, freesncy monitors but after using a none TN panel for the past few years not sure I can go back or have the colour saturation improved?

1080p IPS freesync monitor is probably the best bet. Options available atm are: LG Electronics 23MP68VQ (40-75hz freesync range) , Samsung S24F350FHW (48-72hz range), SAMSUNG S24F356 (48-75hz range)

Another freesync monitor to consider is the Samsung C24F390 (48-72hz freesync) . Its VA so has better contrast but suffers with ghosting in dark to dark transitions. It also has worse viewing angles than IPS but the curve helps reduce this slightly as long as you sit in the sweet spot.

Only decent freesync 144hz TN 1080p monitor is Viewsonic XG2401 and this is quite expensive.
