Need something with decent contrast ratio and colour balance so I can use it for graphics work (nothing too complex, designing the occasional logo and tshirt design). Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The static contrast is closer to 600:1 for that monitor. It is the best you will find for the price though.

Woah, 600:1 is pretty bad, are you sure? A competitor's website listed the static contrast ratio at 1000:1, which is pretty standard for a decent panel.

That is typically what is stated but it is far too optimistic. Even the best IPS panels struggle to quite reach 1000:1 and a measured contrast ratio of 1000:1 would be extremely special for a £100 panel. Even 600:1 is too high come to think of it as this is what was measured for the £200+ Samsung BX2350.

So what would you recommend as a monitor with decent IQ at that price range? I can go smaller than 22" if necessary, IQ is more important than panel size.

If your budget is not completely fixed I would highly recommend the B2230H for £135. The image quality and build quality is every bit as good as panels costing £200 or more and that's why we decided to make it monitor of the month recently. I haven't tested it myself but the Iiyama E2208HDD on this week only seems like a good deal at the moment. Contrast is one of the weakest aspects of the BenQ Gxxxx range despite what the figures may lead you to believe.
