Hi all,

I'm looking for a new monitor to replace my current 22" tv/monitor combo (I don't need a tv function, just a monitor as I've got a real tv now :D)... I'll be using it for a bit of everything really but mostly gaming and Office, no major photo-editing or anything like that. I have read xbitlabs' guide here and have seen that they recommend Samsung monitors to be good all round screens. I don't need a premium product unless the premium price tag is truly justified by an increase in quality.

So basically, I just want a nice monitor to play games and do my Uni assignments on. HDMI or DVI input is essential as is 1080p at least.

My budget is I guess in the region of £200-£300 but if there is something that is really truly awesome for more then I'll consider it too. What about the LG W2486L-PF 24" for £240, is it really that much better than the Samsung P2450H 24" for £160? What about the 120Hz monitors, I've read some reviews but what are people's personal thoughts?

Cheers, Shroomz
