Im in the market for a new monitor and would like some help in deciding which monitor to purchase and get some recommendations.
The monitor will be used mostly for productivity work, that includes typing documents, watching youtube videos, email and the like.
I am not really a gamer but would like to game every now & again. I only really play racing type games so F1, Dirt, NFS but as mentioned gaming is not something that is done often nowadays.
My graphics card is a solitary AMD Radeon HD7950, I have no plans to upgrade this card as it is more than sufficient for my needs for now.
The monitor just gone defective was a Dell 2408WFP 16:10 1900x1200.
I would like something that would make more use of my HD7950 as the Dell was not really taxing it. Budget for the monitor is £350 and must be vesa 100x100.
Thanks

Maybe consider this 25" QHD model? Bit more PPI, 6ms response, and still a Dell :)

Thanks for your reply eddiew.
Whilst waiting for a reply here I having been looking around and researching other monitors. The 25 you mentioned and the 27 are very appealing. Are you able to help me at all and tell me if 144hz and freesync are worth spending the money on? From what I can tell these technologies seem to be geared towards gaming (which I wont be doing too much of) but I may be wrong. Also would I be better off using Display port or HDMI @ 1440p (I want to take advantage of the audio on gfx card)?
Finally where is 1440p's sweetspot in terms of screen size...reading around and looking at youtube is seems to be 27 inches.

EDIT* forgot to mention, the distance from the pc to the monitor is approx 10m. I think this effects display port but not sure so asking here.
Thanks
