Hi Guys

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor from a samsung 2223NW (1680 x 1050) to a 1920 x 1080 for full HD. I mainly play FPS & RPG games and could stretch to about £200.

I'm not bothered about heading down the 120 hz route for 3D gaming and I don't use the monitor for any graphic design work

Any suggestions as I ideally want to pick up a new monitor before kepler drops when I intend to switch to GTX 660 SLI (or whatever the part # might be!)?

Thanks

is your monitor broke? The 2223NW is still a very good monitor. practical 16:10 resolution with good vibrancy. Some of these new LED backlit screens are not all they're made out to be and a lot of the time are really aimed towards energy effecieny.

If you do want the full HD res or more, I would recommend Dell, HP, or Apple. And if you make money from your graphics design work you might want to invest in an IPS pannel so that if your slouching at your desk you know the colours are still going to be fine.

I've had a Dell U2312HM for about 3 months and it's an excellent monitor, it cost me £180 I use it mostly for gaming.

It's an IPS pannel and has good response times for an IPS monitor, I've seen no ghosting in games like l4d, bf3 and payday.
