I did post a similar thread a while ago, but there was never really a conclusion (and the 4k wasn't in the running)
I have a PC with the following specs:
2 Titans (Original SLI)
4930k @ 4.5 ghz
32 GB RAM
I'm looking at the following monitors:
G-Sync
Asus ROG Swift PG278Q 27" monitor 144Hz - TN - £599
Acer Predator X34 - 100Hz - IPS - £949
Non-G Sync
Philips BDM4065UC - 4k 40" monitor - 60Hz - VA - £515
or either of the Dell or Samsung 34" 21:9 Ultrawides.- £650
I'm coming from a VG2488QE with G-Sync, but I don't play many FPS games online.
I will also likely be keeping the VG248QE anyway as a second monitor.
My current thought is:
Buying the 40" 4K and then get a 34" Ultra-wide with G Sync when the cost comes down a little and the 21:9 format is a little more accepted.
So what do you think is the best option? Money isn't really a worry, although it is part of the consideration.
(I will be buying one tomorrow).
