Spec me a Mono Pod !

Hi,

I need a mono pod for an up coming F1 GP in 2012.

I will be flying with EasyJet so hand luggage only for me.
So the mono pod must be small enough to fit inside a 55cm tall case.
Of course that is the external size, so best knock off a few centimeters for internal fit.
the camera is EOS 7D fitted with sigma 17-70 DC macro and EF70-300 IS USM zoom lens.

Any ideas please ?

Redsnapper with a ball head. I got this and its a sturdy piece of kit. Around 30 quid delivered from here.

Budget, well as I we hopefully have it for life then I do not mind paying a little bit extra for it.

Must light though as Ryan Air are bar steward's when it comes to weight and luggage size
I know I stated Easyjet, however I do also fly with Ryan Air !

Manfrotto 680B

This one would be ideal, just worried about the collasped height of 51cm !
I can of course put in diagonally in the hand luggage suit case, though noy ideal when on Ryan Air flights as this will cause problems with packing ! !

I would only use the monopod tilt head as well when traveling and my decent tripod heads are to big and heavy for holiday ! !

Try the Manfrotto 681B then as i believe it collapses alittle shorter but sacrifices height.

The 681B has a folded lenght of 67cm, that is still too tall really.
