LOL..

thinking of getting a moped for my 2nd year of uni...

I have a driving license.. but not sure what that means for a moped..

Not sure on insurance or tax.. just wondered what price is going to get me a moped.. and insurance for the year?

Id love a vespa.. but dont think i could afford one.. not sure how much im going to have tbh..

Throw in any thoughts though! :p

If I remember correctly your car licence will allow you to drive a 50cc Moped without taking the CBT, however it is advised that you take some form of lessons.

I think that is right. :p

If the license is newer than about 1992 i believe a CBT is needed for any size moped. If it was held before that then you can ride anything up to 125cc without the CBT.

tax i believe is 13 pounds, well thats what it is for my 125.
insurance will be nothing providing you go with Lexham insurance. (quote ray :p)

anyway, moped.. get the honda one.. or the yamaha aerox is o.k. i guess. not much of a variety for 50cc tbh.

And yes you need a CBT :)

I cant really afford to go through the whole bike test for a 125cc...

Even though it would be great to have a 125...

Will only be very short distances though.. Bit scared about getting killed though :p.. little moped cant be seen

do your cbt then you can ride a 125, then get a gilera runner 125 you can choose from the 4 stroke vx or the 2 stroke sp these are both nippy for mopeds and theres lots of aftermarket parts you can buy to make them faster
