Hey, hey,

My past 2 x motors have been approx 1 - 2 yrs old, panther black, Titanium X Ford Mondeos. Lovely motor for my daily commute and plenty of space for family outings. However, this present motor is an 06 and having paid approx £13k, i now find its worth about £3k - £4k :(

I am looking at a change and am thinking maybe an Audi A4, no larger than 2ltr and for under around £14k.

I don't want auto trader or private seller and would prefer a garage sale due to warranty.

Any ideas or thoughts?!

Thanks to all that help!!

Why do you want to change? Just because your car is worth far less than when you bought it? I don't understand

Unless you don't like the car and want to change, the value is irrelevant if you keep it.

Your Mondeo has done all the depreciating it's likely to do, now all you have to do is put fuel in it (and service/fix when required).

If there is nothing wrong with it and you like it, keep it?

EDIT - ah well, if you want to change it, thats different. Have you driven an A4 around the price range you are looking at? I'd do that first and then start looking at the specs available.

So spend some money on it? Unless something major is about to break costing you many thousands, I don't see the point in spending 14k on something that's going to very similar to what you have now.

If you want the worst model they do, sure :p

He's already said he want's "no larger" than a 2.0 You could scrimp around for an S-Line, but it wouldn't be as comfortable, and you'll likely find it to be of worse spec (apart from the wheels and suspension).

If he ditched the requirement for it to be from the main dealer network he could easily get an S-Line, and even a 2.7TDI, but that breaks his "rules".

see, i know the skoda represents good value for money, but i still can't get past it's a skoda :(

But, it's not a Skoda, it's a VAG group car, that happens to carry "Skoda" badging. The old Skoda doesn't exist in the same form any more.

What about a Seat Exeo? (It's an A4 with a Seat badge).

2011 car, with under 10,000 miles, for £14k - http://pistonheads.com/sales/4000709.htm (it's on Pistonheads, but is from a SEAT dealer)
