Spec me a mouse mat

Evening all.

My brother has asked for a mousemat for his birthday. His rig is similar to mine (see sig), with a gaming mouse. He plays a lot of Bad Company 2, Fallout 3 and Oblivion (and was a big BF2 fan).

I have a Steelseries fabric-style mouse mat but it is about 300mmx250mm.

I am thinking of the new big one for £14 that OCUK have just got in stock.

Any help is appreciated

i used to always use cloth/soft mouse mats, but as my sensitivity has increased.. i've found the friction quite hindering.
i switched to hard surface mats about 5 years ago and never looked back!
highly recommend Razer Destructor or Steelseries 9HD

a peice of a4 paper tapped to the desk works a treat and gives you 13.98 to spend on beer
