I fancy changing my ancient ms intellimouse explorer for something else. I use the mouse for cad and I need one where I can double click the wheel button easliy I.e. like a third button. I use a wireless intellimouse explorer at home and the tilt wheel mouse is jUst too stiff for double clicking. extra programmable button is a big plus too.
I had a quick fondle in pcworld and all the ones they had seem too stiff, so over to you guys.

Logitech G5 Gaming Laser.
Got it for over a year now and it's best mouse i've ever used. All buttons are programmable.
You can click the wheel without probs, also you can click it from left and right side which works as 2 extra buttons, DPI change on the fly, perfectly precise, and you can adjust the weight to balance it depending on your needs ;-).

Unless you want wireless one then i have no idea, but i would definitely recommend this one for any purpose.

I would suggest one of the Logitech range althoughI bought one of the Raptor gaming mice lately as I didn't want to spend anymore than £20 and I haven't been dissapointed.

mx Revolution, using uberoptions all its buttons are fully programmable, it should easily have enough buttons for your needs.

Definitely the Logitech G5. The 2 buttons on the side are perfect as PTT buttons and web browsing. The DPI changer has also come in handy on many occasions when gaming.

The mx revolution is indeed very programmable but imo the middle button wouldn't be that good for double clicking. It could just be the one I've got but in games like crysis and cod4 where the middle button is almost a necessity, it doesn't work too well.

Nice shape though so it's pretty comfortable :)

Thanks for the replies, the G5 looks like it would fit the bill but could someone confirm that the middle button is OK for double clicking as I did try a logitech mouse in the shop and the wheel button was too stiff for double clicking whcih sounds like the mouse in the quote..
Just to confirm, I need the wheel button to be used like you use the left button for double clicking
