I'm currently using a Razer Copperhead, have been for sometime, before it was a Diamondback plasma, and a before that a diamondback magma.
My first mouse, when I had just built my first pc and didn't have any money, was a smallish belkin mobile mouse, that I used to deadly effect I upgraded to the diamondback because the mobile mouse was only 200dpi, yet I saw no improvement in my performance with the diamonback, maybe even a slight loss, purely because of the way the mouse is held.
Mobile mouse I controlled with my fingers, it was about 1/2 to 3/4 the width of my palm (not one of those tiny 2finger wide jobs), and as such, my wrist remained planted, and I could move the mouse very accurately. The diamondback (and all subsequent razer mouses) require you to move your entire hand with the mouse, so the mouse is actually controlled with your arm. Also, the extra weight on top of the mouse means it doesn't glide easily at all, even with the extra super-slick sticker pads applied. So when you're trying to line up that sniper shot in split second time, sometimes when I've had 5 seconds of a static target I haven't been able to line him up.
So, I need a mobile mouse, with a decent dpi (1600min or so), with thumb buttons (again minimum of 5 button mouse).
