roccat Kone seems relatively low arse end but I was used to MX1000's and MX Revos.

Quite happy with the Kone other than it being a fair bit lighter than my logitech one

I'd say get a Lachesis, but GZA's recommendation is a superb alternative and it comes with a free mouse mat!

I've had a lot of mice, from expensive to stupidly cheap and the best I've found so far has been my current MX-518. I've never instantly "gelled" with a mouse like this one - it tracks and responds well, but most importantly it is comfortable and easy to grip - this was the main reason for changing from my 6 year old Diamondback (that I kept going back to from whatever I tried before!) as when I started to use my PC all day long working from home, I started to get cramping in my hand as its too small to properly grip.

A bonus is that it's significantly less than your budget, too.

Ive had lots of razer mice and would swear by them, Deathadders, Lachesis, and various other mice, however was given the Cyborg RAT3 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-034-SK
seriously good mouse , and very smooth. nice and sharp and the build quality is fantastic, just an alternative from the usual razer stuff.

The above is under your budget price, but you can customize this mouse to suit your needs, which IMO is completely unique

G9x would be perfect, i cant use my old mx518 anymore as its too "big at the back" for me. G9x is great for claw/fingertip grippers and has the same low lift off distance that optical mice have, its really surprised me as all gaming mice ive tried up until now have been garbage.

Button placement is also excellent.
